As Supplement Reviews Lab continues to grow and get more visitors, I wanted to start a weekly e-mail newsletter to keep in touch with everyone between postings.
Inspired by other great newsletters, I am starting a weekly newsletter series called 5-Feature Friday. Every Friday, I will be sending a list of 5 things I have been using, enjoying, reading or watching during the week.
There are a lot of things that I try, read and watch that I cannot always do a post about. I would be doing multiple posts a day if that were the case.
I think this is a great opportunity to share my interests with you. Although it will usually include things about fitness and bodybuilding, it will include many other things outside of it.
I am excited to share things that entertain me and/or improve my life in some way that I think can help you improve yours as well.
If this interests you, make sure you sign up for the newsletter down below.
Here is an example of the 5-Feature Friday newsletter…
What I’m watching– The Golden Era Of Bodybuilding on YouTube. This is an awesome documentary filmed during the golden age of bodybuilding featuring greats like Tom Platz, Bob Paris and a very young Rich Gaspari. I believe it was filmed during 1986 which was on the tail end of the golden age. It was a few years before we would see the bloated GH guts of today begin to emerge. This was filmed during a time when bodybuilding was still a beautiful art. You can see and feel the energy beaming off of the bodybuilders in this documentary. Bodybuilding today has gone in a very different direction. It’s become ugly. Even though I wasn’t alive when this was filmed, it makes me feel very nostalgic. I truly wish bodybuilding would go back to how it was during this period.
Article I’m reading– Carnivore Diet Results: Why It Works for Some People But Didn’t for Me by Dave Asprey. If you don’t know Dave Asprey, he’s one of these biohacker types that puts out some really interesting supplements and content. He’s the guy behind Bulletproof coffee. If you follow my blog, you will know that I am a fan of the keto diet. I have been following it for a while and have some awesome results. While it’s not a carnivore diet per se, it is quite similar. I think that this is a very interesting read about zero carb diets and made a few good points about gut health that I am going to take into consideration. You can always improve on your diet.
Book I’m reading– TNT The Power Within You by Claude M. Bristol. Amazon will not allow me to post any links through e-mail but that is probably the best place to buy the book. This is an old self-help classic on the power of your mind and visualization. I know that some people think that kind of stuff is a fraud, but I am a huge believer in it and can’t get enough of these kinds of books. This is a classic. It was written in 1956 however, it does not seem to have gotten the credit or fame it deserves. If you like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, you will love this book. It’s very similar in many aspects however, it does a good job at explaining the same topic differently. I am loving this book!
Supplement I’m purchasing– Pulse stim-free pre-workout by Legion Athletics. I have been eyeing this supplement for some time and I am finally going to buy it in the upcoming days. After reading the great reviews of it and looking at the ingredients, I think that it’s definitely a product I can trust. I also love that it’s caffeine free as I don’t do very well taking too much of it in. I am looking to ramp up the intensity of my workouts to get fit for summer and I think this could be a huge winner. Keep an eye out for a review in the near future on my blog.
Quote I’m pondering- “Take wrong turns. Talk to strangers. Open unmarked doors. And if you see a group of people in a field, go find out what they are doing. Do things without always knowing how they’ll turn out” – Randall Munroe. It can be very easy to get comfortable in life however, you stop growing and progressing when you get too comfortable. You never know what life can be for you if you never leave your comfort zone. Most often I’ve found that great things happen when you do it.
That’s all for this week!
Which of the above feature is your favorite? What are some topics you would want to see more on in future 5-Feature Friday posts? Please let me know down below!
