I have been a big fan of green powder supplements for a long time. They provide an easy way to get more of the good stuff into your diet.
For those who haven’t heard the term green powder before, it refers to a water-soluble powder blend of dehydrated green vegetables.
While green vegetables and plants like kale, spirulina, chlorella and spinach usually form the base of many of these supplements, they also typically contain other healthy ingredients like fruits, spices and probiotics.
Why not just eat the vegetables you might ask? While green vegetables provide a ton of health benefits, there’s one big problem with many of them. They just don’t taste very good at all!
I’ve choked down kale smoothies while holding my nose. I’ve done everything I could to dress up broccoli and spinach attempting to make it something palatable. All with poor results.
You feel guilty when you don’t eat the healthy things you know you should be eating. This is where green powders step in to save your taste buds and sanity.
Green powders allow you get all the benefits of those hard to swallow green vegetables with as little effort as it takes for you to drink a glass of water.
While green powders are an easier way to get your green vegetables in, they are not without their issues. Many taste downright disgusting and will leave you choking by the end.
Thankfully, an awesome company called Brickhouse Nutrition has created a green powder called Field Of Greens, that not only is great for our body, but is also great tasting. At least as far as green powders go.
It’s my privilege to bring you the Brickhouse Nutrition Field Of Greens review, to save you from the horror of force feeding yourself anymore steamed spinach or kale.
Why take a green powder supplement?
First and foremost, why even bother taking a green powder supplement? Well, aside from the benefit I discussed above of being able to avoid the torture of physically eating green vegetables multiple times a day, there are three really good reasons to add one to your daily routine.
- Green powders provide you with foods and nutrients you would never eat otherwise.
I’m going to use Chlorella as an example. Chlorella is a type of algae grown in fresh water that is present in almost every green powder supplement I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot of them.
Chlorella has been found to provide some major health benefits to include detoxifying heavy metals, detoxifying radiation, lowering blood sugar and cholesterol as well as supporting your immune system.
When was the last time you had any Chlorella outside of a green supplement? Exactly. My guess is that you have likely never had it outside of a green supplement because it’s not something generally found in your nearby grocery store or dinner plate.
Green powders allow you to intake a multitude of unique and healthy superfoods that you would likely never eat otherwise.

2. Green powders help you to reach your daily fruit and vegetable requirement
About half of the adult population in the United States has one or more chronic diseases likely linked to a poor diet. It’s not hard to see that the western diet many consume is terrible for our health.
The United States Department Of Agriculture (USDA) currently recommends that half of your plate should be vegetables. Before you say it, French fries don’t count!
Even though I am currently following a keto diet, I still do eat a lot of vegetables. While I find most green vegetables difficult to stomach, I love salad and usually go through one or two large containers of it a week.
Using the USDA recommendations, I would need to eat at least 3 cups a day of vegetables and two cups a day of fruits to meet my requirements.
While I rarely eat fruit right now, I probably surpass 3 cups of vegetables most days however, I know there are days when I don’t reach it.
Even though it may seem like a fairly low target if you are a healthy eater, the Center For Disease Control and Prevention found that only 1 in 10 adults or 10 % of adults reached their fruit and vegetable recommendations. While that’s scary, I can’t say that I am truly surprised.
With such a low amount of people reaching their daily requirement, I would say that a green powder is much more of a must than a should at this point. With Field Of Greens, you can easily get 2-4 servings of fruit and vegetables at a time, making it much easier to hit your daily requirement.
3. Convenience
I know that I talk about it all the time, but supplements are so valuable because they are convenient! Free time is the most precious commodity that we have and most of us don’t have nearly enough of it.
With all that you have to do on a daily basis, do you want to spend it sautéing and cooking complicated vegetable recipes that still probably won’t taste very good? I know that I don’t and I’m sure that you don’t either.
Attempting to take, cook or eat every ingredient individually that’s found in Field Of Greens would take me hours. Field Of Greens allows me peace of mind knowing that I am getting the healthy fruits and vegetables during the day without having to constantly obsess about cooking or grocery shopping.
About Brickhouse Nutrition
Brickhouse Nutrition is a diamond in the rough as far as supplement companies go. I was fortunate to find them about 6 months ago after discovering a creatine supplement they make called Foundation, that blew every other brand of creatine I tried out of the water.
Brickhouse Nutrition formulates their supplements off of the latest science and research to ensure that they are bringing you the best supplements available. They even have a team of doctors on their staff that help to make sure the supplements they produce are effective and healthy.
While they don’t have a ton of supplements right now, the ones that they do have are really top-notch. I like their quality over quantity approach. One look at their website, and you will see that this company is different from your standard supplement company.
Field Of Greens
Field Of Greens is really something special and stands out in the green powder market. The coolest thing about Field Of Greens is that it’s real food, dried and ground into a powder. It’s not a flavored extract full of garbage like other companies put out.
A second very important thing is that Field Of Greens is USDA certified organic, which is hard to come by. Many of the green plants and vegetables often found in green powders are not organic and therefore, have potentially been exposed to pesticides.

Knowing that Field of Greens is organic, gives me further peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about the sources they use to make the powder.
“FIELD OF GREENS delivers a full-spectrum of colors with fruits, veggies, herbs, spices, and more to support and improve well-being. Different colors of fruits and vegetables contain different kinds of phytochemicals – each with their own unique set of qualities. The major colors are red and green, not coincidentally located at opposite ends of the color wheel. Red fruits and vegetables tend to contain more anthocyanins, tannins, flavonoids, carotenoids, and stilbenes. Greens contain coumarins, phytosterols, and lignans as well as flavonoids. Broadly, these chemicals participate in anti-oxidation, lipid metabolism, and glucose metabolism.”- Brickhouse Nutrition
Each serving of field and greens contains one serving of vegetables and one serving of fruit. Going off of the above USDA suggestions, that’s half of my daily fruit requirement and 1/3 of my daily serving of vegetables. Pretty damn good for something that takes less than 20 seconds to mix up and drink.
Ingredient blend and breakdown
There are quite a lot of ingredients in Field Of Greens so I will break them down into the five categories they are separated in on the back of the container to make it easier to read.
Organic greens blend: organic spinach powder, organic parsley powder, organic kale powder, organic barley powder, organic wheat grass powder, organic spirulina powder, organic chlorella powder, organic green pepper powder, organic green apple powder, organic green banana powder, organic sweet potato powder and organic broccoli powder.
Organic prebiotic blend: Inulin/Fructooligosaccharides.
Organic antioxidant reds blend: organic strawberry, organic raspberry, organic blueberry, organic tart cherry, organic pomegranate, organic cranberry and organic beet.
Organic metabolic blend: organic ginger powder, organic licorice powder, organic turmeric powder and organic green tea powder.
Probiotic blend: heat stable probiotic.
Other ingredients: citric acid, natural flavors and organic stevia extract.

As you can see, Field Of Greens is a powerhouse of nutritional vegetables, plants, fruits and spices. It certainly adds a new meaning to “eat the rainbow”.
Nutrition
One thing I really like about this supplement is that it’s low on carbohydrates and sugar. I have been avoiding fruit on the keto diet due to the sugar and fat it contains.
With Field Of Greens, I am able to get the benefits of eating a variety of fruits without also taking in the carbohydrates and sugars.
Here’s a nutritional breakdown of Field Of Greens:
Calories: 10 (zero from fat)
Total fat: 0
Total carbs: 3 grams
Sugar: 1 gram
Protein: < 1 gram
Fiber: 2 grams
Greens blend: 4 grams
Prebiotic fiber: 2 grams
Antioxidant reds blend: 1.5 grams
Metabolic blend: 1 gram
Probiotic blend: 3 Billion CFU/g

How do you take it?
The serving size of Field Of Greens is one small scoop added to the beverage of your choice. I personally just add it to water, but it can easily be added to smoothies, protein shakes or juices. Field Of Greens mixes very easily in water and does not clump up very much.
I take my Field Of Greens first thing in the morning. It’s just a habit that I started doing with green powders for no specific reason other than I don’t want to forget if I put it off to later in the day. I try to take my supplements at the same time every day so that I don’t forget to take them.

I am currently on my second tub of Field Of Greens. I generally take it once a day however, I will take it more if I feel that I didn’t eat particularly healthy that day or if I’m fighting off a cold.
My experience
I know that the most important thing for many people when it comes to green powders is the taste. Like I said earlier, most taste awful and are hard to stomach on a daily basis.
If I had to estimate the number of green powders I have taken over the years, it has to be at least ten separate ones. Of all those brands, this is the best tasting one I’ve tried.

I think that the stevia extract and added fruit in Field Of Greens really helps to make it taste better than other powders. The taste is a sweet fruit-like taste. It’s not overpoweringly sweet but it does mask a lot of the strong tastes from the green vegetables and plants that are usually present in something like this.
Does it taste like chocolate cake? No, but it does taste exceptionally well compared to the other green powders that are on the market. With all these ingredients, I’m not sure that it is possible to make this taste any better than Brickhouse Nutrition has.
Even though I generally have a very clean diet, I certainly have noticed a few things since taking Field Of Greens. When I take it in the morning on an empty stomach, I feel better and I feel more energetic almost immediately.
I also feel that Field Of Greens has helped me out a lot with digestion. It contains 3 Billion CFU of probiotics which is much more than I have seen in other green powders. That along with the prebiotics in it, have really seemed to increase my digestion throughout the day. I don’t usually have too many digestive issues, but I have had virtually zero since I started using this.
I also feel clearer headed with field of greens. Ever since I stopped drinking coffee daily, my brain seems to take a while to get going in the morning. It just feels foggy and not as alert as I think I should feel. When I take Field Of Greens first thing in the morning, I feel more alert and clearer minded. It’s like drinking coffee without the jitters and energy crashes.
Price
Field Of Greens is currently $58.95 on Brickhouse Nutrition’s website. As there are 30 servings per container, that’s just under two dollars a serving. Less then two dollars for a full serving of organic fruits and vegetables. Not bad at all.
There are other green powders on the market that are cheaper than Field Of Greens, but they are not nearly the same quality. I truly believe you get what you pay for with supplements and in my opinion, this is a fair price for a green powder with these ingredients.
The few companies that produce a green powder similar to the quality found with Field Of Greens, are priced almost exactly the same however, most are not certified organic so to me, this is more valuable.
The great thing about Brickhouse Nutrition however, is that there is typically a coupon code available to get at least 10 % off of your order. I have yet to pay full price the numerous times I have ordered their products.
In fact, I’m going to help you get 10 % off your first order if you decide to try Field Of Greens. If you use the coupon code LAB at checkout, you are going to get 10 % off of your first order of Field Of Greens!
Who is Field Of Greens for?
I think that Field Of Greens is for everyone. Whether you’re a bodybuilder, athlete, homebody, senior citizen or anything in between, the numbers show that most of us are not getting adequate amounts of fruit and vegetables.
If you’re someone that truly cares about your nutrition or your family’s nutrition, Field Of Greens is likely going to be a great investment.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Taste
- Quality of ingredients
- Certified organic
- Low sugar
Cons
- Not available on Amazon- I’m impatient when I order things and Brickhouse Nutrition supplements usually take around 5 days before I get them. The good news is that they have free shipping on all orders so it’s not a huge deal.
- Low fiber- One thing you will lose with this is the amount of fiber you would get if you ate all these fruits and vegetables. It’s not a huge deal for me personally, but just be aware that you won’t get a ton of fiber from this.
Green knight in shining armor
Field Of Greens can be a huge help for those of you looking to clean up their diet or just feeling like you are not getting the daily amount of fruits and vegetables you should.
It’s a life saver for me on a lot of days when I either missed a few meals or did not eat balanced meals. I’ve come to look forward to taking it.
It’s helped me with energy, digestion and early morning brain fog. This is a great green powder that I would highly recommend for those of you who are in the market for a green powder.
Have you tried Field Of Greens or any green powder before? I would love to hear your experience, both good and bad, down below!
I always struggle to eat enough greens and I have tried green powder before but couldn’t even finish the drink because of the taste. I’m so glad now someone has come out with a green powder that is palatable! Can finally get my greens in and enjoy the taste
Hi Jesse,
I hear ya on that one. This one tastes way better than most of the ones I’ve tried. Just about as good as greens can taste I think! Thanks for your comment!
Wow so nice to know there’s someone else who loves Brickhouse products out there too.
I have been buying their products and my family also uses most of them and we really like them.
A close friend of mine who loves working out and exercising doesn’t go a day without taking their powder.
This is a good powder for those you want their family to be healthy.
Awesome! Glad to hear you like them. They are a great company and do make awesome supplements. Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for an interesting article. I’m using green powder too but I’m not sure about the effect though. Years back I was told that if you don’t feel/see an effect from whatever supplement you’re taking, there’s no need to take it. I don’t buy in to this view though but I would like to feel more energized from it than I actually do. However, from the long list of ingredients, nothing but good stuff, it must add some benefits even though they don’t show.
When I bought it I was concerned that my smoothies would taste too grassy but that’s not the case at all.
Hi Lars,
I don’t think that you always have to feel an effect with supplements for them to work but I think with green powder, you should definitely feel something. If it’s a high quality one, it will be flooding your body and mind with nutrients and vitamins. I know that it’s a quality one if I feel something from it. I think if you gave this a try, you would probably notice some positive benefits unless you already have an immaculate diet. Thanks for your comment!
Very nicely done site. Content is readable and important information.
Thank you!
It’s really refreshing to see a product review on a green powder that someone actually likes! It’s always been a struggle to find one that fit into my dietary lifestyle and still tastes halfway decent. I’m also pretty pumped to see that you take this and are still able to follow the keto diet – I’ve been following it myself for the past few months. I’m very impatient when it comes to supplements and want to see and feel the difference immediately (as silly as that sounds), but it seems like this might be the product to try given your super positive endorsement about it making you feel energized and alert! Thanks for the coupon code! I’ll definitely be purchasing Field of Greens.
Hi Angela,
Yes I am and it’s been a huge help for me. I do still like to make sure I get in enough greens and with Keto, that doesn’t always happen. I think that the worse off your diet is already, the quicker you will feel the effects of Field Of Greens. If you have a great diet, you might not feel the effects as quickly but I still think most people will notice a few things. I really hope you enjoy it. I would love for you to come back and let me know what you think of it! Thanks for your comment:)
Thank you for this great article. I’m using food supplements too and I can tell you they are not nice in terms of the taste. I think that if the manufacturer of these supplements can make them more palatable, the demand will increase. Though the benefits outweigh the taste. They provide the needed nutrients our body needs. These needed nutrients are hardly met with our daily foods and/or fruits and vegetables.
How much does field of greens cost?
Are they approved by the food and drug guys?
Hello,
I certainly agree with you on the taste aspect which is why I think Field Of Greens is going to be a big winner with people who like green powder once it gains some momentum. If you look at the bottom of the article where it discusses the price, it’s currently $58.95. As far as approval by the FDA, supplements do not need FDA approval to be sold and they aren’t typically approved however, although this is technically a supplement it’s really just a combination of real foods not supplements. Thanks for your comment and thanks for stopping by!
This is the first I have heard of Brickhouse Nutrition Field of Green. In the beginning I was opposed to the green supplements until my friend bought one for me and told me to give it a try before judging so I said why not.I could see my body is changing in the positive way. My complexion is smoother and I do not see the rashes that I use to have around my forehead. I have more energy and more focused. Who could have know that vegetables and fruits can do that to you?It is also very convenience to have at home, they do not go bad as the real vegetables. However, I still do love to eat my vegetables but I use the green powder as a supplement for my health.Thank you for the reviews and listed ingredients. Will check Brickhouse Nutrition out. 🙂
Hi Nuttanee,
That’s awesome to hear! Many people are surprised at the positive benefits they see from green powders. I think a lot of people get convinced by people around them that they are a waste of money which just isn’t true. The convenience is the main reason why I love green powder so much. Who wants to eat plate after plate of vegetables? It sounds like you have a healthy diet and have made it even healthier with a green powder. I would love to hear your thoughts on Field Of Greens if you decide to try it out. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Thank you for this post Dan, I love my greens and I like them fresh. Recently I stumbled on a bottle in the spice section, it said “mixed herbs” it was full of dried greens chopped into very little bits. I thought that was great. But the green powder sounds much better than bits. And I can blend it into my smoothie, awesome!
Hi Juliet,
This is definitely much different than what you found in the store LOL. This can easily be blended into a smoothie. Thanks for your comment!
This is great news for me because I found the important product information which I was looking for here. I’m thinking of taking this to fulfill my daily nutrition, food and vegetable requirements. Thank you for this honest review about Brickhouse Nutrition’s green powder supplement. I am definitely interested in trying it out now. Thank you very much for writing this review article about field of greens. I will let you know how it goes for me!
Hi Abdullah,
I’m glad it could be of help to you! You are very welcome. Let me know what you think of it for sure! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment.
Hello Dan,
Thanks for letting us know about such a nice supplement. I did not know about Green powder supplement of brickhouse before. After reading your review, I came to know that, green powders have become tasty now. I have tried green powders once and they tasted really so bad that I could not continue. But, I am interested to try this one.
Thanks again.
You’re welcome! This is definitely different than green powders of the past. If you try it, I’d love to know what you think about it. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Hi Dan,
Have you tried bio-altrenatives.com greens?
They seem to have more for less.
I have used it and really like the taste and my results on my blood test turned my prediabetes to reverse, that and changing my nutritional intake.
Hi Michael,
I have never tried it or heard of it but I will definitely look into it. I’m always up for new supplements. Wow that’s impressive! Thanks for the suggestion I will definitely check it out. Thanks for stopping by!
