One of my favorite supplement companies of all time is Brickhouse Nutrition.
They make great supplements, but the downside is that they are a bit slow to come out with new ones.
Personally, I don’t see it as a major issue because I know that they take their time putting out quality supplements that work.
For the first time in a long time they have a new supplement out called Fortify.
Fortify is an organic whole food multivitamin.
When I got an e-mail from Brickhouse Nutrition a few weeks ago telling me about Fortify, I had to order it that day.
I’m quite content with my current vitamin, but it never hurts to try something new.
If you’re in the market for a multivitamin, this Brickhouse Nutrition Fortify review is going to tell you everything you need to know about it before you buy!
About Brickhouse Nutrition
Brickhouse Nutrition is a great supplement company.
I was fortunate to find them a while back after
discovering a creatine supplement they make called Foundation, that blew every other brand of creatine I tried out of the water.
I’m also a big fan of a greens powder they make called Field Of Greens.
Brickhouse Nutrition formulates their supplements off of the latest
science and research to ensure that they are bringing you the best
supplements available.
They even have a team of doctors on their staff
that help to make sure the supplements they produce are effective and healthy.
With Brickhouse Nutrition, you won’t find 50 different supplements on their website.
They only have a few, but the ones that they do have blow similar supplements out of the water.
Nobody needs 50 different supplements anyways and I’d much rather go with a company that focuses on quality over quantity.
Why take a multivitamin?
Almost everyone has taken vitamins at some point in their life, but do you need them?
I’m a big believer in vitamins for one reason.
Most of the food we eat today sucks.
It’s less nutritious than it was in our grandparents day and doesn’t contain the amount of vitamins and minerals it used to.
I look at vitamins as an insurance policy.
While you try your best to eat healthy, it doesn’t always happen.
On top of that, food today doesn’t always give you all the nutrients you need.
With vitamins, you can be sure that you’re taking in the correct amount of vitamins and other nutrients you need to give you peace of mind.
On top of that I’ve never known anyone who said they actually felt worse taking vitamins, just better.
If there was one supplement I believe everyone should be taking today, it’s vitamins.
About Fortify
Fortify is different from most multivitamins on the market today.
It’s an organic whole food multivitamin.
That makes Fortify unique in two ways.
Few vitamins on the market today are organic. As much as I love Pure Vitamin club vitamins, they’re not organic.
The second thing that makes Fortify unique is that it’s made from food.
Most vitamins are made from synthetic ingredients. Fortify is actually derived from real food sources, hence the whole food description.
Does that make it any better? I honestly don’t know. I’ve seen studies saying it doesn’t make a big difference, but I feel better getting my vitamins from real food sources over chemical ones.
Fortify is:
- Organic
- 100 % natural (for real)
- Vegan
- Non-GMO
- Gluten free
- Free of artificial ingredients or preservatives
- Free of yeast
This is a multivitamin designed for adults that will provide you with the recommended daily values for your vitamins and minerals.
It delivers the benefits of over 20 different vitamins and minerals.
What I like about it
I like that it’s organic and made from whole food plant sources.
It’s not a must for me that a vitamin meets those requirements, but it’s a nice positive.
On top of that I like the ingredients that Brickhouse Nutrition used for this vitamin.
One area of major supplement frustration over the years for me has been multivitamins due to the poor ingredients most companies use.
If you look at the ingredients of your average multivitamin, you’ll find a lot of fillers and preservatives.
The only real ingredient in these aside from the plant sources for the vitamins and minerals is Hypromellose, which is what the capsule is made out of.
Hypromellose is a natural fiber derived from cellulose. It’s pretty much a guaranteed ingredient in all-natural vitamins since the capsules have to be made out of something.
Hypromellose has been used in supplements for a long time and is considered safe. I’ve never had any issues with it and have no complaints about it.
This is certainly one of the highest quality vitamins I’ve tried.
What I don’t like about it
I have to be honest when I tell you that there’s very little I don’t like about this vitamin.
One complaint I have is a complaint I have with most vitamins, which is that it doesn’t have enough vitamin C.
Fortify contains 56 % of the recommended daily value for Vitamin C however, I’d prefer it to contain at least 100 % or more of the daily value.
It’s rare for a vitamin to provide that much Vitamin C however, so that isn’t an issue unique to Fortify.
It would just make it a little sweeter for me if it had it.
I go into it in the price section down below, but these vitamins are more expensive than other ones in the same category out there, so that’s also a negative for me.
Does it work?
Vitamins are tricky.
I’ve been taking them my whole life basically, so I don’t notice much of a difference between them.
I notice a difference if I stop taking them, but I’ve been taking them consistently for years.
I can’t say I notice anything particularly different with Fortify, but I’ve been taking Pure Vitamin Club vitamins for a long time, which are also high-quality.
Without a blood test, which I’m not doing, I cannot tell you how effective these are.
On the upside, I haven’t noticed any negative effects and I’m enjoying these.
They digest very well for me and I’ve had no stomach issues with them.
Ingredients and price
Here are the ingredients and facts for Fortify:
As you can see, it’s entirely made from plants. No artificial ingredients, preservatives, fillers or flavorings of any kind!
There’s a lot of healthy ingredients in these like Shiitake mushroom and Holy Basil that you won’t find in other vitamins.
Fortify is currently going for $39.95 on Brickhouse Nutrition’s website, but don’t forget you can get 10 % off your first order by using the code “LAB”!
As far as vitamins go, the price is on the higher end for a 30-day supply, but keep in mind that it’s both organic and derived from whole foods.
Two things that most vitamins are not.
When you compare it to other companies like Garden Of Life though, it’s pretty expensive considering their vitamins contain 60 servings.
The ingredients seem pretty comparable so I’m not sure how they justify the higher price tag with these.
Is it worth it?
An extra $40.00 a month to your supplement budget is a pretty big jump but is likely worth it if you’re looking for an organic whole food vitamin.
There’s not too many out there that I’ve seen or tried.
I know most people reading this will think these might be a little too expensive, but keep in mind what you get with them.
Fortify is made from excellent organic ingredients which definitely brings the price up.
They’re expensive, but I still believe they’re worth it for what you get–just know there are cheaper options out there.
I love this company, but I’m not doing my job here if I didn’t discuss my issue with the price.
Overall, Brickhouse Nutrition has come out with another great supplement here and I’m glad they’ve added a multivitamin to their lineup!
Stay pumped,
Dan
P.S. Have you ever tried Fortify or any other whole food vitamins? I’d love to hear your thoughts, questions and comments below!
I have always been looking for some advice on a good vitamin and this is a great review. I want to add it to my daily routine but wasn’t sure of the best way to go about it. In the search for a healthier lifestyle, I wanted to add the daily vitamins to ensure that I have the right intake. I do have a question for you and that is about the protein powders and supplements like them. Is it worthwhile to take these on a daily basis or is it more for a person who lifts weights every day and does more training like this? I do not go to a gym and workout so I never have thought about using these. Anyways I am glad that I have found your review on vitamins and seems like Brickhouse has come up with a great supplement. Also, the last thing are all-natural vitamins better for you to use? Thank you again.
Hi Douglas,
That sounds like a great idea to me. They are super helpful for making sure you get enough of the nutrients you need on a daily basis when your diet leaves some gaps. These are designed to be taken daily so totally suitable to take them that way! I think everyone should take vitamins regardless if they workout or not. Depends on how you categorize all-natural, but my personal preference is natural vitamins over synthetic ones. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Great article man .i could see u really took your time in writing this. Keep up great work .cant wait to read more.
Thank you! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
I would say definitely worth the price especially that it is a plant-based vitamin. I never realized that other vitamin supplements use synthetic ingredients. Is that not the purpose of it to be organic and natural? How is it for individuals like myself that work out?
Hi Viviana,
Well the purpose is technically to ensure that you are getting the adequate amount of vitamins and it can be done with synthetic options. It’s a lot cheaper for the companies do it that way and the average consumer doesn’t really care where their supplements come from sadly. I definitely prefer my vitamins to be organic and natural whenever possible. It’s a great vitamin for people that workout in my opinion. It has everything in it to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and recover adequately as long as you are eating well as well. Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Thank you for posting this great review. I run a whole foods website so I agree wholeheartedly about digesting synthetic products and I also appreciated the link the article about the nutrition in todays foods. It’s important that we, as individuals, take charge of our own health and help to spread whatever knowledge we possess on the subject.
You’re welcome Cynthia! I 100 % agree with you. If everyone took the responsibility for looking after their own health we would be in a much better place as a society. Hopefully it starts sooner than later. Thank you for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Awesome website. This post was very informative. It really makes you think about the vitamins that we use. As you stated, vitamins today are not as good as they use to be. We must be the agents of our on health and find the best supplements available. I look forward to reading future post.
Thanks Nathaniel! I really appreciate that. I put a lot of work into this site. Never a finished product though LOL. I definitely agree with you! It’s up to us to take charge of our health. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
