I’ve gone back and forth a lot over the years with probiotics.
I can’t even begin to count all the ones I’ve tried, but its been quite a few.
Some were effective and some I barely noticed anything with.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken a probiotic supplement though, so I was excited for this one.
I’ve increased the size of my meals and protein intake drastically since the beginning of the year and felt like I needed some help with digestion.
So, I did what I usually do and went to Amazon and searched for probiotic supplements.
Right at the top of the list was MAV Nutrition digestive enzymes.
A company I’d admittedly never heard of however, Amazon has rarely led me wrong, so I hit that sweet buy now button after going through some reviews!
As I write this, I just got my second bottle of it in the mail so you can say things are getting pretty serious!
If you’re looking for a probiotic supplement, this just might be the right one for you. I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about it before you decide to drop your hard-earned money on it!
What are probiotics?
I think that most people know probiotics have something to do with the bacteria in your gut.
If you’ve ever taken antibiotics, your doctor has probably told you to eat yogurt for the probiotics to keep your gut bacteria balanced.
Probiotics are the “good bacteria” you hear so much about. They are live bacteria and yeast that work to keep your gut healthy.
I won’t bore you with the scientific lingo, but there are a lot of different strains and groups of probiotics.
They’re naturally occurring in foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut and kimchi.

A lot of things in modern society can hurt the bacteria balance of our gut overtime, which can lead to a host of issues and health problems.
Probiotics work to keep your gut flora balanced, especially if you have taken antibiotics for a long period.
While probiotics are typically known for their ability to improve digestion, they’ve also been found to help with inflammation, depression/anxiety, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, immune function and skin health.
While you can some in the foods I listed above, a lot of people choose to take them in supplement form due to the convenience.
Why use a probiotic supplement?
The reason I specifically chose this supplement was because it states that it helps with the healthy breakdown of protein, carbs and fat.
If you’re a bodybuilder or someone into fitness, you’re probably eating more food than the average person.
You’re also certainly eating more protein, which can be hard to digest in large amounts.
While that doesn’t make it unhealthy, the body can definitely struggle to digest all that food and protein.
Especially if you are eating every two hours like many bodybuilders choose to.
I recently heard someone say that you’re not actually what you eat, you are what you can digest!
I think that’s a great way to sum it up.
Just because you are eating all this healthy food, doesn’t mean your body is digesting it well.
Most people have problems with digestion.
I have a hard time digesting most forms of carbohydrates and deal with a lot of bloating unless my diet is near perfect.
I really wanted to try this supplement to see if it would help me with my digestion and bloating issues. Two major issues I saw this supplement improved for people who wrote reviews of it.
I prefer to take a probiotic supplement because I don’t want to eat yogurt and kimchi all day long just to get it in.
I’m sure you don’t either!
About MAV nutrition
Like I said above, I had never heard of MAV nutrition before I ordered this supplement.
It’s not uncommon to find a supplement on Amazon with great reviews that you’ve never heard of.
A lot of big supplement companies start other brands they don’t really tell you about just to increase their coverage of the market.
I honestly have no idea, but I have a feeling this company may be owned by a bigger company.
Either way, they don’t give you very much information about themselves on their website.
They don’t have a ton of supplements, but they do have a few.
Each of their supplements look to be high-quality and don’t contain any artificial or dangerous ingredients.
The company’s address on the bottle is out of Florida and it also says that they’re manufactured in the United States.
Their supplements are made in a good manufacturing practice (GMP) facility which is important.
About the digestive enzymes
Here’s what you’ve been waiting for so let’s get down into the thick of it.
According to the description on MAV Nutrition’s website, this supplement is formulated for ultimate digestive comfort and assistance with helping the body to digest protein, carbs and fat.
The digestive enzymes are also formulated to provide gas and bloating relief, support gut health and boost energy levels.
It contains three strains of probiotics and digestive enzymes.
It’s basically designed and formulated to help your body break down those foods that it struggles with.
I don’t see any ingredients in it that should contain gluten, but I also don’t see anything saying that its gluten free so contact the company before you order if you have a gluten allergy.
It’s a pretty straight forward supplement that tells you exactly what it’s supposed to do.
Ingredients and price
Here are the following ingredients: Probiotic bacteria, Makzyme Enzyme Blend (2500 HUT), Bromelain 90 GDU,
Papin 2670 TU, Fungal Lipase 1500 FIP, Fungal Lactase 600 LACU, Alpha Galactosidase 300 GALU, cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, Silicon dioxide.
The last four ingredients are what the capsule is made of. The rest are the probiotics.
Overall, I don’t have any issue with any of the ingredients although I’m not a huge fan of Silicon dioxide in supplements.
Nothing artificial that I can see though which makes these a solid choice ingredient wise.
You can usually get these for around $20.00. That’s a very fair price for a supplement like this in my opinion and is definitely one of the strong points for it.
My results
Overall, I really like these digestive enzymes.
I feel like they’ve improved my digestion a ton.
My body seems to digest the large meals and protein way better than it was before.
My bloating after meals has also been reduced quite a bit.
You’re supposed to take one capsule twice a day a half hour before you eat.
I’ll be honest and say that I usually only remember to take one capsule a day however, I’m still getting great results with these.
I am going to be more mindful about taking them twice a day which I think will lead to even better results.
On days when I forget to take these, I notice it and my digestion suffers.
The bloating also comes back with a vengeance.
I like this supplement a lot and will continue using it for the foreseeable future!
Who is this supplement for?
I’m not going to say that this supplement is for everybody.
If your digestion is perfect currently, I don’t think this supplement is for you.
If your digestion could use some improvement, this may be a great supplement for you.
Read through some of the 2,000 + reviews of it and you’ll find that its helped people resolve a ton of issues.
Bodybuilders especially should consider a supplement like this since the body struggles with digesting all the protein, carbs and fat on its own.
This is a great basic probiotic that is affordable and easy to take.
There are many probiotics out there that require refrigeration and sell for far more money.
Look around at a few of the other ones out there and you’ll quickly realize how crazy it can get.
Food for thought
This is a great supplement.
It’s helped me quite a bit with my digestion and bloating issues.
The two problems I was hoping it helped me with before I tried it, so this gets a big Supplement Reviews Lab stamp of approval.
If you’re in the market for a probiotic, I definitely encourage you to do your research, but take a hard look at MAV Nutrition’s digestive enzymes.
They could be a game changer for you!
Stay pumped,
Dan
P.S. What is your experience with probiotics? Have you ever tried this one? I’d love to hear your question and comments below!
This is very helpful! Is it safe for pregnant women to take? Being pregnant squeezes my stomach and I find it harder and harder to digest foods and not feel very full. This might be an option to help.
Thanks Angela! I’m glad you enjoyed it! So there is a warning on it for expectant or nursing mothers to consult with their doctor prior to use which you should definitely do prior to using!! You don’t want to mess around with that. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your comment!
Love your health site. Very informative and the product itself is not a bad price. I never heard of the product before either, but if it works more and more people will know the name.
Thanks Brittany! For sure. I am definitely enjoying it and think it will continue to be a popular supplement on Amazon. Thanks for your comment and thanks for stopping by!
